ADB Revises Bangladesh’s GDP Growth Forecast to 3.9% for FY25

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has revised Bangladesh’s GDP growth projection for the fiscal year 2024–25 to 3.9%, down from its earlier forecast. The updated estimate reflects the ongoing global economic challenges, domestic inflationary pressures, and reduced export demand.

According to ADB, tighter financial conditions and slower industrial output have impacted overall economic momentum. However, the bank remains optimistic about a gradual recovery supported by policy reforms and investments in infrastructure and energy.

“This revision signals a need for stronger fiscal discipline and accelerated structural reforms,” said an ADB country economist.
